The story

Our first certified Bird Friendly® offering

Finca Terrerito is a family-owned farm in Copán, Honduras, founded by Al Lopez. His path took him from rural Honduras to a corporate career in the U.S. and time in the U.S. Army, then back home to change how coffee is grown and sold.

After decades in executive leadership, Al returned to his roots to build a farm that could model fairness, traceability and quality from the ground up.

Today, Finca Terrerito processes its own harvest with spring-fed water and ships directly to roasters, cutting out middlemen and reinvesting in the local community through housing, education and healthcare.

This coffee marks a milestone for us: our first certified Bird Friendly® offering, sourced from Finca Terrerito and certified by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center (SMBC).

We're proud to be the first roaster in Alabama to join the program, which protects critical bird habitat through rigorous organic and biodiversity standards, including deforestation-free zones.

A portion of every purchase goes back to support SMBC's conservation work.
