I wanted a coffee that felt easy and familiar. It's the type of roast that you can put in a thermos, take fishing, and sip all day. The flavor stands up, and the texture is smooth and sippable.
This is a 50/50 blend of beans sourced from Guatemala and Nicaragua. And, like many coffees of Central America, it's got rich, chocolatey bass tones. But not so much that it hits you over the head with them.
This is not your fruity, avant-garde coffee. It's a super-solid brew you can count on regardless of how you intend to brew and drink it.
It takes cream and sugar without losing that coffee flavor, and I (usually) prefer to drink it black because it's also easy to sip.
I hope you'll take this one along with you for a fine day on the river, or wherever your country road takes you.
