Country Road

This coffee was our first blend and has, more or less, become Coffee Break’s flagship coffee. We wanted to create an exceptionally balanced blend with a classic Central American profile - syrupy, sweet to bittersweet chocolate base tones, and a hint of nutty almond praline. Our thought was that, if we accomplished nothing else, this roaster should have at least one awesome daily drinker. A coffee that you can pour into a thermos at 5am on your way to the lake, that’s still going to taste great and keep your spirits up even when the fish aren’t biting. The Country Road Blend combines the high-altitude Huehuetenango beans from Guatemala and the unique Java varietal from Nicaragua’s La Bastilla. Huehuetenango’s coffee benefits from the dry, hot winds of the Tehuantepec plain, enabling growth at elevations up to 6,500 feet and producing beans with vibrant acidity and notes of milk chocolate and dried fruit. La Bastilla’s Java, grown in the rich volcanic soils of Jinotega, adds complexity with flavors of chocolate, cane sugar, and hints of lemongrass. Both coffees undergo washed processing, highlighting their distinct regional terroirs.
