  • Story

    In the past we've used Veracruz coffees as a blender because of their balanced sweetness and round toffee and chocolate notes. So we were thrilled to uncover this lot of green coffee from (traders) Genuine Origin, which offered some of the characteristics we've enjoyed from Veracruz in the past, but with a unique forward orange note that comes across a bit like marmalade. This coffee was decaffeinated using a water process in Veracruz, and we roast to a solid medium for sweetness and body.

  • Coffee Background

    This coffee was sourced from small farmers across the Veracruz region of Mexico. The coffee was washed and then sun dried before undergoing decaffeination via Mountain Water Process by Descamex. This coffee includes Tipica, Bourbon and Caturra varieties that were grown between 1,200-1,600 meters above sea level. Veracruz is a coastal zone in southern Mexico located along the Gulf of Mexico. It is the second-largest coffee producing state in Mexico.
