Roaster's Notes
This electric kettle provides a lot of bang for the buck.
Yes, you can get a more sophisticated kettle like a Fellow Stagg EKG, but it will cost you—usually 2-3x as much as this model by Bodum.
The design is simple, modern, and clean. And it heats VERY fast compared to stovetop kettles and most other electric kettles that I've tried at a similar price point.
The cork handle is comfortable, and the assembly is relatively lightweight.
A gooseneck is a MUST-have feature if you use a kettle to make coffee. Wide spouts work well for tea, hot chocolate, etc. But the restricted flow and ability to control where it goes is essential for coffee.
Some gooseneck designs restrict water flow enough that it takes painfully long to pour your fill. My 2 cents is that this one pours at a reasonable rate.
Also, be mindful of the MAX fill marker inside the kettle, and don't overfill it. It can boil over and make a mess.
